When talking about the McCanns the writers use words such as traumatised to express the level of their situation and how it’s effected them. They are present as being loving and caring union, Mr and Mrs, husband and wife. When quoting Mrs McCann she uses the word “we” a lot suggesting that her and her husband are a team and they make all the decisions together.
“Totally protective parents” By using the word totally it’s assuring the audience that the McCanns are full committed to being responsible and protective parents. They’ve learnt from loosing their daughters that looking after their twins are a priority.
The article also mentioned the couple used the money that was raised for Madeline, to pay for trips across Europe. This suggests that the couple had motive other than finding their daughter.
The writer uses words such as “ high profile” to imply that the  McCanns are of high status and that compares to Shannon’s case they’re more important because they raised much more money.
Snatched was a word used to describe what happened to Madeline where as what happened to Shannon was an “alleged abduction”.
The messages on social class is that they are desperate but they’re also a community become when the people form Shannon’s area heard that she’s was missing they all did what they could to try and find her. The community stuck together and worked as a team along with the police to find Shannon.
They mentioned “suspicion” when referring to Shannon’s mother, she’s was a suspect and she had motive unlike the McCanns who both have steady well paying jobs they are not expected to stage a kidnapping for money.
The writer called Shannon’s mother statement a storyline implying that it’s not try, it’s made up.
Another message is that those of the lower class usually are from broken homes, Shannon’s mother has several children for five different men but the McCann are married and there are no step or half children.
The language for the two families are different because they present Shannon’s mother as being a liar and someone who is pretending compared to the McCanns where they can’t be sure but they will give them the benefit of the doubt because they have money.

To represent the McCanns in a positive and maternal light, they used a photograph which shows the mother spending time with Madeline to convey the idea that Madeline was allwayed taken care of and with her parents.
They used two separate photographs, one of Shannon taken at school and one of her mother, by the press shower her with her head he’ll down. It’s also an eye level shot I believe this is because they detectives could see through her “storyline” and had reason to believe she was a suspect.

The dominant (intended) meaning of The Daily Telegraph in my opinion was to show how people of different class are treated in terms of government. It was also to raise awareness for other parents, for other parents to be careful when leaving there child alone, unattended and to also show that people of a lower class need money more so they will go to extreme extents to require it.
The audience is supposed to feel sorry and empathy for the McCanns and Shannon because it was her own mother who staged her kidnapping along side her stepdads uncle. It conveys the feeling that the McCanns are better parents now, that the situation has made them more protect. Compared to Shannon’s mother who is implied to be extra emotional, money hungry and shameless.
Shannon’s mother got the kidnapping idea from the a tv series called Shamless.
